Nursing Scholarships with the Minimum Amount of Eligibility Requirements

Currently, the nursing profession is a "hot" career choice. Most of the literature predicts that there will be a high demand for Registered Nurses for a number of years to come. Depending on which route students want to go, a person can obtain an associate degree in two to three years or a bachelor's degree in about four years. Whichever way you go, it takes MONEY to fund an education. With the economy being the way it is, more and more students are trying to help fund their education through the use of grants and scholarships. Loans are a possibility, BUT students have to pay back loans. Grants and scholarships for college are a preferred choice of alternate funding for many students.

There ARE nursing scholarships available. However, nursing scholarships are like just about any other type of college scholarship, in that, nursing scholarships are based on very specific, narrow, limiting eligibility requirements. Many scholarships are based on ethnicity, gender, age, marital status, field of study, military status, and more. We have seen A LOT of nursing scholarships limited to geographic location and a specific school.

The following information on this web page tries to list college grants and scholarships that have the least amount of eligibility requirements, or no restrictions, on who can apply for these nursing scholarships. Most of the following scholarships can be used for the school of YOUR choice.

We start out by listing nursing scholarships that just about any nursing student in the United States can apply for. Below this list will be a special list of nursing scholarships with some special or specific eligibility requirements. Towards the bottom of this web page will be more resources that can be found on the World Wide Web, including free scholarship search services, that can lead you to more nursing scholarships.

We have received requests from a number of people and organizations to list their forms of assistance for Nursing AND CNA students. For now, we have placed MORE sources of information for education and financial aid for nursing and certified nursing assistants towards the bottom of the page s under the heading: "Websites that List MORE Scholarships and Information for Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants."

The U.S. Department of Education provides funding for several grants. The Pell Grant is one of the most popular grants that many, many students receive year-after-year. However, we need to mention a couple of other grants that may help. PLEASE do NOT underestimate the value of the Pell Grant as well as the following two grants by the Department of Education. Many students will qualify for, at least, some Pell Grant money. Some students will qualify for the maximum amount of Pell Grant money, which is over $5,000. Nursing students, as well as just about any student, might benefit from these grants. As of the 2011-2012 school year, the federal government will no longer fund the Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) or the National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART). These were popular scholarships/grants that were funded for a number of years. There are a few other federal-funded scholarships / grants that will interest a number of people. For more information about the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), TEACH Grant, and more, PLEASE click on the following link for more information at: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/grants-scholarships

PLEASE visit a College Financial Aid Office for more information about Federal and State grants, scholarships, and financial aid.

College Grants and Scholarships with the Minimum Amount of Eligibility Requirements is a Kindle ebook that lists approximately 150 college scholarships that have the least amount of eligibility requirements, so that just about anyone can apply for these scholarships. There are only so many scholarships for a specific group of people, whether it is Hispanic, single mothers, women, nursing students, veterans, or other groups. This ebook will provide a list of more available scholarships. Some of these scholarships require writing an essay while others require filling out just an application. There are NOT many scholarships available without specific, limiting criteria. There are many resources that will list thousands of scholarships, but a majority of them will have very specific requirements that prevents many students from applying to most of the scholarships listed in the resources. However, this Kindle ebook lists scholarships that most people within the U.S. can apply for. If you do not have a Kindle, you can download the free Kindle Previewer in order to view Kindle books on your PC at http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?docId=1000765261 OR https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/help?topicId=A3IWA2TQYMZ5J6 . We know how difficult it is to format documents for the Kindle so the formatting might be kind of strange for some of the text. However, we find the text tolerable and the links work.

RN to BSN Online offers a scholarship as well as information about nursing training and careers: "The RN to BSN degree path is strongly recommended by the two major accrediting bodies for Nursing, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (ACEN), and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Research shows that nurses with the BSN are able to provide a higher standard of patient care and have a broader understanding of both the nursing profession and of broader community and public health concerns. Hiring trends also show that employers value the training nurses get in a BSN program. The overall field of nursing shows a 19% growth in jobs within the next decade, with a median salary for all nurses at $65,470 per year (as of 2012)."
Although Grants, Scholarships, and MORE cannot endorse any website, we honor the requests of organizations to list their programs so that students can investigate which programs are right for them.
