The Reference Desk will provide links to answers to some of the more popular questions that may be asked at any of the libraries within the Iosco-Arenac District Library system. Actually, many people outside the IADL may find some of the following sources of information, helpful. I hope that this web page and website can help.
Activities and Library Progams
Activities and programs asscociated with libraries have been a standard tradition for a VERY LONG TIME. We are talking about a variety of all kinds of activities and programs presented to members of the communities whom libraries serve. Library programs involve a diverse group of people and organizations. Activities can be presented by paid staff members of the library, volunteers of the library, members of the Friends of the Library group, organizations/businesses within the community, and organizations outside the community that have unique features that are of interest to much of the public.
The "Activities and Library Progams" web page presents some samples of many, many activities provided through the libraries of the Iosco-Arenac District Library system of libraries. One of the main messages of Headquarters is that "Libraries are more than books" and that is very true.
The posters and pictures are REPOSTS that are located on the Facebook pages and websites of Headquarters and the branches of the Iosco-Arenac District Library system. As I say over and over, these are only a small sample of the happenings provided and continue to be provided to the communities of the Iosco-Arenac District Library system of libraries.
Some of the postings are for upcoming activities, BUT MOST of these happenings are PAST examples of what the IADL can provide.

(American Psychological Association) Style Citation Format Examples
The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) is an EXCELLENT source for "all things writing." This site provides tips for developing a thesis statement, writing the paper, writing a resume, and much, much more. A lot of very helpful information on how to cite according to the APA style format manual can be located at this site, including an example / sample APA paper. Books Web Page: will list sources of information that will help you find more information about authors, books, different genres, and series of books.
Interlibrary Loan: Provides information on options for interlibrary loaning items, for free.
Online Books for FREE : list of resources/websites offering you the ability to read adult and kids (children's) online books for FREE.
Copying, Faxing, and Package Deliveries
We are asked many questions at the help desk and some common questions have to do with where to go to make a copy, fax a document, or if there is a business in the area that will send or receive packages from services such as FedEx or UPS. The answer is YES, there are locations within the Tawas areas that offer these services.

Chegg isn't just about books anymore. Now. they offer access to different forms of homework and tutoring help, as well as other education-related topics. ALTHOUGH, there is some information at their website that may be helpful, the actually tutoring help is for a FEE.
Jiskha Homework Helper allows people to post a homework question and someone will post an answer. It is up to YOU to decide if the answer is correct, though.

Sat Prep - Algebra Resources Galore! is a math website that was recommended to us by the Math Olympiads at Mesa Valley Middle School. We understand why the expert Math Olympiads like this website. There are PLENTY of tools, exercises, and lesson plans at this website that can help students learn algebra, as well as other forms of mathematics such as geometry, precalculus, trigonometry, and statistics. Some online math games are available to help make the learning process a little easier.
