Contact Page

Hi, my name is Mark.

Welcome to my website.

Please feel free to contact me at either one of these email addresses: collegecareers72@gmail.com OR markslibrarywebsite@gmail.com

I have decided to provide some information about our local libraries within the Iosco-Arenac District Library system.

Any information, or opinions, on this website are not coming from East Tawas City or Heaquarters of the Iosco-Arenac District Library system. I named the website Mark's Website because this website is my website. I ask you to PLEASE direct any comments to me rather than East Tawas City Library or Headquarters of the Iosco-Arenac District Library. They are not involved with this website.

I have lived either part-time, or full-time, in the Tawas area for over forty years. I worked as a Radiologic Technologist at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital from about 1977 to 1988. I decided to go to Wayne State University to receive a Master's Degree in Library Science. The degree allowed me to work at Wayne State University, Iosco-Arenac District Library system from 1995 to 2001, and then retire after about twenty years working as a Librarian for Delta Community College.

I was a part-time volunteer at the East Tawas City Library, but I retired from there, also.

After the experience at East Tawas Library, and meeting old friends at Headquarters, I decided to help promote what libraries within the Iosco-Arenac District Library (IADL) system, as well as other libraries thoughout the United States, can do for the people within the communities that they serve.

The other way to look at this website is to look at it as my Facebook page or a type of BLOG. As my friends know, I am not into posting much on Facebook. However, I like the format of a website for specific kinds of information. Much of the information would not work well on a Facebook page or BLOG. Facebook is a great communication tool, but for the most part, Facebook requires a lot of scrolling of the pages to find postings that someone posted a long time ago. It takes a while to find old posts that you want to find. Probably, I will create another Facebook page for Mark's Website because I know that a lot of people like to communicate on Facebook pages such as "Tawas Exchange" and "The Original I Love Tawas." I will post on these two Facebook sites, BUT most of what I will post will lead you to my website for MORE information. Again, I must say, that Facebook and Twitter do not seem to be a good tool for organizing a lot of information for easy access.

This website will be a CONTINUAL WORK IN PROGRESS. I questioned whether to upload these web pages after I completed a significant amount of pages OR go ahead and post new information as soon as I can, because the new information may be of help to some people. I decided to post pages as I continue to work on the website. Although, there will be links that will not work, the links that WILL work will send you to information that I want to believe will be of interest to you. I have found that information continues to change and for that reason, there will continue to be a need for updates.

Thank you for visiting my website.
